?

Did you have the same reaction I did when I realized the countdown to end of school was winding down? Blind panic/hyperventilation, followed by persistent anxiety?

NO? Lucky you.

But if you were even a little nervous about what your kids were going to do with all that extra time, fear not. Here?s a list of links to area organizations and businesses offering camps and classes that can keep your kids occupied during those dog days of summer.

Watertown YMCA

Our faves are their Art Classes, like the 3d Art Camp and Multi-Cultural Art Class (for ages 4-13)

There are also lots of Gymnastics and Cheer camps and classes to choose from (for ages 18 months -16, all levels)

The Y is offering several Sports Camps and Summer Classes in everything from a general sports camp to specific sports like soccer, (ages 4-9), lacrosse (ages 5-10), track and field (ages 4-13) and a Wizards Baseball Camp (6-12 years old)

North Country Arts Council

?

The NCAC?s Arts on the Squarehas become the NNY art Mecca thanks in part to their innovative arts education programs. Summer will be no different, with several classes and camps being offered to youngsters between the ages of 5 and 20. We?re especially excited about the Dinostars! Musical Variety Show where kids ages 5 to 9 will learn theater techniques and staging terminology to put on an ?American Idol? format performance on their last day of class.

Other opportunities include a TEEN A-Capella camp, and courses in photography for ages 8-20.

Dance Classes & Camps

Rhonda?s Footeworks (with locations in Lowville and downtown Watertown) is offering a summer dance schedule, along with camps like Princess Party, Circus Week and a summer rehearsal schedule for a Lyric Theater production in Sackets Harbor at the end of the summer. You can view Rhonda?s Watertown summer class and camp schedule here.

Northern Lights Dance Co. ? offering 6-week ?camp? classes in gymnastics and dance on Mondays or Tuesdays for ages 3-11.
